OutflowGuard uses sophisticated detection algorithms to identify potentially fraudulent bank account changes.
Our system connects to your Xero account and polls contact data every 1 minute. This ensures near real-time detection of any changes.
Data Collection - We retrieve bank details from Xero contacts
Normalisation - Bank details are normalised to extract only numeric digits
Fingerprinting - A SHA256 hash is created from the normalised data
Comparison - New fingerprints are compared against stored values
Incident Creation - If the fingerprint differs, an incident is created
Numeric changes - Any change to the actual account numbers
BSB changes - Changes to the bank/branch identifier
New bank details added - Previously empty field populated
Formatting changes - Adding spaces or dashes (e.g., "123456" to "123-456")
Case changes - Changes in letter capitalisation
Non-numeric text changes - Comments or notes in bank detail fields
For Australian bank accounts, we display bank details in the format:
BSB 123-456 •••• 1234
Only the last 4 digits of the account number are shown for security.
